On April 9, 1962, Major League Baseball was welcomed to Houston as the Colt .45s rolled down Main Street in a parade. The name wouldn't last long. Due to a lawsuit by the Colt 45 firearms company, Judge Roy Hofheinz announced the team's name change to the Houston Astros at the end of 1964.
