Dave Ward remembers President George H. W. Bush
The news of the passing of President George Herbert Walker Bush is devastating for all of us.
Simply put, he was one of the finest men I have had the honor to know in my lifetime.
As 41st President of these United States, Bush was a devoted husband, father, and a friend to me from the moment we met.

The Houstonian was one of our country’s greatest leaders and a true American Patriot.
A decent man. A kind man. A man of strong character who dealt with all people equal.
His compassion for others led him to lead a life of service to all. Honest in any and all situations, his family was his core, his foundation in all that he did. They were central to his every thought.
In remembering former President Bush, I begin to smile each time. I know I’m a better person for having had the honor to know him.
In my book, which will be released in April, I reflect on our 55 year friendship, one of enormous respect. He was kind enough to write the forward to this book, and I can’t wait to share his most beautiful words.
May he and Barbara Now rest in eternal peace together, as it should be.
